Roxanne dominated the airwaves in the Windy City for twelve years at B96 (CBS Radio). She moved on to DJ for stations in Washington, Texas and Arizona before finally reaching the place that was her dream destination at the time: Chicago. After getting her foot in the door, she was consistently growing on-air and gaining greater exposure. After attending the Academy of Radio Broadcasting in Huntington Beach, CA., Roxanne landed her first radio gig in Palm Springs, CA at the young age of 19. With a career path established at such a young age, Roxanne set a course to make a name for herself. As a natural entertainer, her indisputable talent was quickly recognized and Roxanne was encouraged by her teachers to make her dreams of being a radio personality a reality. She was given her own show on the campus radio station and quickly realized how much she loved the power of the microphone.
Roxanne first joined the broadcasting world while she was just a senior in high school. “I was a big radio fan as a kid and still am today.”

Regarding the recording process, lead singer Jamie Brown comments, “We wanted to make a rock record that you’d want to crank in your car and drive fast with the windows down and I think we accomplished that!”. Now 30 years later the band returns with a new offering entitled “Radio Silence”, which features 11 tracks of pure adrenalized classic rock influenced music and also features special guest appearances by guitar legend George Lynch, King’s X front-man dUg Pinnick and Korn drummer Ray Luzier.

Originally formed in the late 80’s, Roxanne garnered commercial success with their 1988 self-titled debut album which was well received with two songs charting on rock radio “ Cherry Bay” and “ Sweet Maria”, as well as a cover of Wild Cherry’s “ Play That Funky Music” which hit #63 on the Billboard singles charts and was in full rotation on both dance and rock stations simultaneously.Īs with many bands from that era, facing the decline in interest for AOR rock due to the onslaught of the “grunge” scene, the guys in Roxanne went on hiatus. “Radio Silence” is the sophomore release from the LA based rock band Roxanne and will be available on Octovia Rat Pak Records.
